For a person who NEVER watched Star Trek (I know how can I call my self a nerd?!) I got just a little excited . . . ok I admit it looks very cool with lots of things that go boom!
See, I was only ever a fan of the original Star Trek (SHATNER!) so I was extraordinarily worried about this new film, because how could you recast all those iconic characters, reinvent their universe and get away with it? But what I’ve seen just feels so *right*. I watched the two trailers that have come out with my mum the other day, who is a MASSIVE trekkie, and by the end of it she was so excited, we both just ended up squealing at each other. I figure if it meets her approval, it’ll be good.
And besides, it’s got freakin’ Eric Bana as the villian, and Simon Pegg as Scotty. You pretty much can’t top that level of awesome.
OH MY GOD! *squeals like a little fan girl* I would see a film about rocks. . . very boarding small rocks as long as it has those two in it! Oh went to see “Love the Beast” yesterday and it was amazing! I loved it, and may have held back tears in parts.
Hayley! Oh my! I did exactly the same thing! Actually i also cried at the little trailer thing they put out BEFORE they had even found a cast or started filming…
So good!
I keep spontaneously bursting into tears every time I remember that The Lucksmiths are breaking up. This makes listening to my iPod on shuffle a disconcertingly wet experience.
Listening to: Forests and Sands - Camera Obscura
Reading: The internet. Lord, I don't think I've read a real book since my holiday. SHAME!
Watching: "Space! The final frontier!" *geeks the hell out* (dudes, I am never going to get sick of watching Star Trek ever. Just warning you now)
